Three individuals have been arrested in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district for allegedly killing and burning a wild animal, suspected to be a rare Caracal wild cat. The incident came to light after a video was uploaded to social media.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and visited the wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centre in Gujarat's Vantara, which is home to more than 2,000 animals across various species and over 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered, and threatened animals.
Modi had released the first batch of eight eight spotted felines -- five females and three males -- from Namibia into a quarantine enclosure at Kuno on his 72nd birthday on September 17 last year.
